Nearly 100 scholars from China, Japan, Singapore, South Korea, Nepal, the United States, Britain, France, Portugal and other countries attended the First ISSPDS. More than 30 special academic reports have been held. The participants have conducted in-depth exchanges on the major scientific problems and key technical issues encountered in the Seismic Performance and Design of Slopes, and jointly discussed the new theory, new technique or method of earthquake prevention and mitigation of slope engineering.

Keynote reports of the Conference

The landslide disaster triggered by earthquake has the characteristics of fast motion, wide spread scope and strong ability to cause disasters, which often lead to the complete destruction of large scale construction and even direct burial, resulting in devastating disaster consequences. It is a serious threat to the safety of people’s lives and property. The successful holding of this conference provides an international academic research platform for the study of Seismic Performance and Design of Slopes, strengthens the cooperation and exchange of scholars at home and abroad in this field. It is agreed that the 2nd International Symposium on Seismic performance and Design of Slopes will be held in the UK in January 2020.
