2019-11-3 International Training Course on Slope Land Disaster Reduction
In 2013 October, Himalayan Landslide Society (HiLS), in the close coordination with ICGdR, organized 11th International Symposium on Mitigation of Geo-Disasters in Asia (MGDA-11) in Kathmandu, Nepal. The symposium was inaugurated by Chairman of the Council of Ministers of Government of Nepal, Mr. Khil Raj Regmi. More than 200 participants from 14 countries participated in the Symposium. All active members of ICGdR were in the symposium and few of them participated in all field excursions also. It was a successful symposium of MGDA series.
On October 21, 2013, during steering committee meeting of ICGdR at Kathmandu, it was decided that the MDGA series of the Kathmandu symposium was last one and the MGDA symposium was named as “International Symposium on Geo-disaster Reduction”. In that meeting venue for next meeting was also decided. The College of Engineering and Computer Science at California State University, Fullerton, USA in collaboration with Geo-Institute Los Angeles Chapter of the American Society of Civil Engineers will host the 12th International Symposium on Geo-disaster Reduction at California this year on September 5th and 6th. Dr. Binod Tiwari will chair the symposium.
